In response to the ever increasing corporate wealth and income inequality in society, we at The Online Pharmacy want to make a real difference. That's why we're about putting people before profits.
The revenue of pharmaceutical and cosmetic goods retail in Australia exceeds $17 billion dollars per year. When you think about the major names in the pharmacy industry, what comes to mind about community investment and donations from these groups? If you're struggling to think of examples, you're not wrong. In this article from the Australian Financial Review, no pharmacy company appears in the list of the top 50 corporate donors.
So that's where we come in. Australia is one of the most generous societies, ranking number two as the most charitable country in the world. We believe that people will want to support an organisation that makes a real difference for society. That's why we are committed to donating 50 percent of our net profit to registered charities. By proportion, this is 50 times greater than the globally encouraged benchmark and what Australia's largest corporate giver (Rio Tinto) donates.
We also appreciate the importance of value for money. We offer extremely competitive pricing across the range and do not expect that you would pay more for your pharmaceutical goods than you would at another major pharmacy retailer. If you have found an item at a cheaper price elsewhere, let us know so that we can adjust our pricing accordingly. Our business model is built around high volume and low margins, however unlike the others, we use our profits to help the Australian Community.
Who We Are
The Online Pharmacy was established in 2021 by Susan Dale. Susan is a doctor and a pharmacist, and has over a decade of experience in the online pharmacy sphere. Her previous role was as the Founder and Director of Australia's first animal pharmacy. With the same goal of helping people (and their pets), The Animal Pharmacy was established to help pet owners by making the cost of their pet medicines (significantly) more affordable.
The Online Pharmacy has a team of knowledgeable and caring pharmacists and pharmacy assistants. Our customer support is 100% based in Australia, so whilst we can't offer 24/7 support, we are contactable 7 days a week and a pharmacist is available for advice throughout the day.
We partner with Australia Post for the delivery of orders.
Who We Support
The current strategy for giving by The Online Pharmacy is to support a different health-related charity every month. There is the opportunity for customers to make an additional donation to their charity of choice during the check-out process.
